Passing Origym Level 2 Gym Instructing

Passing the Level 2 Gym Instructor Qualification

Thank the lord. I did it.

After months of preparation, anxiety, and doubt, I managed to pass my Level 2 Gym Instructing qualification with Origym.

The build-up was rough. The process didn’t feel particularly accessible, and there were several points where I didn’t feel confident at all.

But I passed.

The Accessibility Problem

That said, the qualification process still has a long way to go.

From booking assessments to understanding expectations, I found the overall structure confusing and unnecessarily stressful; especially for neurodivergent learners.

There wasn’t enough information shared in advance, and what was available felt inconsistent. Small adjustments, like clearer communication and better-prepared guidance materials, would make a massive difference.

If this process was challenging for me, as someone who’s already used to navigating fitness spaces, I can’t imagine how many potential trainers might give up before they even get the chance to qualify.

The fitness world shouldn’t be full of barriers.

Neurodivergent people deserve an accessible route into this industry; not one that leaves them questioning their capability at every stage.

Why I’m Speaking Up

This qualification process has lit a fire under me.

If anything, the experience has made me even more determined to help make the fitness industry accessible; not just for clients, but for aspiring professionals too.

Because inclusion doesn’t stop at who’s in the gym; it starts with who’s able to work in it.

What’s Next

It’s been ten months since I qualified, and I’ve now had the chance to reflect on everything I learned — not just during the assessment, but throughout my first year working in the industry.

Since then, I’ve created several YouTube videos sharing my full experience with the OriGym Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications; what helped me pass, what I wish had been clearer, and how I’d make the process more accessible for future learners.

These videos break down the practical elements, study tips, and personal challenges that often don’t get talked about, especially from a neurodivergent perspective.

If you’re preparing for your own assessment, or simply want to know what to expect.

And if you still have questions, I’d love to hear from you. Whether it’s about accessibility, assessment prep, or starting out as a gym instructor, I’m always happy to share what I’ve learned.
