Fitness with Feeling - Not So Typical Personal Training

Neurodivergent (AuDHD) Personal Trainer

If you’ve ever walked into a gym and felt like you didn’t belong... If you’ve ever been talked down to, overwhelmed, or completely lost during a workout... If you’ve started over more times than you can count...

Hi. I see you. Because I am you.

Rhiannon Cooper the personal trainer at Not So Typical Fitness is grinning wearing bose noise cancelling headphones, glasses and stood next to a barbell with pink clips in the gym.

I’m Rhiannon, a neurodivergent personal trainer based in Wolverhampton—autistic, ADHD, and someone who’s had a complicated relationship with fitness, food, and my own body. I’ve lost over 100 lbs in the past. I’ve also put most of it back on. And honestly? That experience is one of my biggest strengths as a coach.

Because I get it. I know what it’s like to be trying your absolute best and still feel like you're not getting it right. I know what it’s like to juggle mental health, executive dysfunction, sensory overload, and all the invisible stuff that makes showing up harder than people realise.

Why My Coaching Is Different

I created Not So Typical Fitness because traditional fitness just didn’t work for me.

It didn’t feel accessible. It didn’t feel kind. And it didn’t take neurodivergent people into account.

I'm not the kind of personal trainer who will:

  • Bark orders at you

  • Push unrealistic expectations

  • Hand you a strict meal plan with no flexibility

Instead, I will:

  • Ask how your brain works before suggesting how your body should move

  • Turn down the music if it’s too loud or overstimulating

  • Explain every exercise clearly—as many times as needed

I don’t do cookie-cutter plans. I build flexible, ADHD-friendly workout support that works with you, not against you. I believe in working with you to find what feels good, doable, and right for you. Whether that’s building confidence with weights, learning to use gym equipment without panicking, or just finding the courage to walk through the doors, I’ll be right there beside you.

Who I Work With

My clients often include:

  • Autistic adults starting fitness for the first time

  • ADHD women looking for structure that doesn’t feel suffocating

  • People who feel anxious, gym-avoidant, or completely new

  • Anyone who’s been made to feel like they don’t “fit in” to fitness

There are no set requirements, you just have to be willing to try.

You won’t find any “no excuses” slogans here. You’ll find kindness, structure (when you need it), and a real human being who doesn’t pretend to have it all together.

You Don’t Need to Be Fixed.

You Just Need to Be Heard.

I became a personal trainer because I didn’t see anyone like me in the fitness world. And honestly, I didn’t feel welcome. I want to change that—for you, and for everyone who’s ever felt like fitness just wasn’t made for them.

You don’t have to be skinny, neurotypical, confident, or already fit to work with me. You just need to be ready to try, even if that means trying again.

Ready When You Are

If something in this spoke to you, and you're thinking, “maybe this time could be different” then reach out and let’s have a chat about your goals.

I take clients online and in various gyms across Wolverhampton. I’m also able to offer home visits.

Let’s Go!

You don’t need to be “fit enough” to start. You just need to start. And if you’ve been waiting for the right time, the right person, or the right environment—that time might be now, and that person might be me.

If you're interested in booking your first session (online or in person), drop me a message. I can't wait to support you on your journey!
